Five Indonesian Badminton Players Advance to Quarterfinals at World Championships 2026

Five Indonesian badminton players are set to compete in the quarterfinals of the BWF World Championships 2026, held at the Indira Gandhi Arena in New Delhi, India, on Thursday, August 21.

The Indonesian contingent spans across mixed doubles, women's doubles, men's doubles, and men's singles categories. The day's play will open with the mixed doubles pair Amri Syahnawi and Nita Violina Marwah facing Yang Po Hsuan and Hu Ling Fang of Chinese Taipei on Court 1. This will be their first encounter, with Syahnawi/Marwah ranked 20th globally, while their opponents are 12th.

In the women's doubles, Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma and Meilysa Trias Puspitasari face a tough challenge against South Korea's top pair, Baek Ha-na and Lee So-hee. The Indonesian duo has lost both previous encounters, including their last match at the Malaysia Open 2026.

Another Indonesian women's doubles team, Rachel Allessya Rose and Febi Setianingrum, will compete against China's Li Yi Jing and Luo Xu Min. Rose/Setianingrum are ranked 12th in the world, while their Chinese opponents are ranked eighth. Their sole previous meeting at the China Open 2026 saw the Chinese pair emerge victorious.
