Authorities in Pontian have ordered the immediate closure of five sites involved in illegal land reclamation using construction waste from Singapore. The decision, reached in a coordination meeting involving the Pontian District Office, Land Office, Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Corporation (SWCorp), and local authorities, came after residents voiced complaints about the growing prevalence of this activity.
