Floating Garden hosts bazaar for social reintegration program participants

The Jardín Flotante organization has launched the "Borrón y Vida Nueva" bazaar, a market designed to bolster the economic prospects of individuals who have been released from prison. This initiative, a collaboration with the Institute for Social Reintegration (IRS) and the Secretariat of Labor and Employment Promotion, seeks to provide a platform for these individuals to sell their products directly to the public and gain visibility for their entrepreneurial ventures.

On July 30, participants in the "Empowering Lives" sub-program showcased and sold their goods. This program has equipped them with essential training, ongoing support, and the necessary tools to either start or expand their businesses. The goal is to foster economic independence and facilitate their successful reintegration into society.

Organizers highlighted the significance of hosting the bazaar in a prominent city location. This strategic placement allowed the entrepreneurs to connect with a broader customer base, expand their market reach, and strengthen their brand presence. The event served as a crucial step in bridging the gap between their reintegration efforts and sustainable economic activity.

Cinthia Guadarrama, Director General of the IRS, emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation in creating more opportunities for individuals affiliated with the Institute. She also noted the value of utilizing public spaces for community building, inclusion, and development, transforming them into vibrant hubs for social progress.
