Florida mail carrier arrested for stealing and cashing winning lottery ticket

A US Postal Service employee in Florida faces charges after allegedly stealing a winning lottery ticket that was mailed to its owner. The employee, identified as Lakaysha Lockhart, was arrested on July 23 after a joint investigation by the Florida Lottery and the US Postal Inspection Service.

The investigation began when a lottery player reported that their winning "Pick 4" ticket, mailed to them, never reached its destination. Lottery officials confirmed the ticket was cashed on July 19 at the Florida Lottery office in Miami. Lockhart, who was identified as a USPS mail carrier, subsequently admitted to stealing and cashing the ticket, which was valued at $2,600 (approximately NT$84,000).
