Fontaines D.C. tease 2027 show at Slane Castle

Fontaines D.C. left Electric Picnic audiences with more than the memory of their headline set. A slide pointing to Slane appeared on the screens as the Dublin band brought the festival to a close on Sunday night, suggesting a major concert at the Co Meath venue in 2027.

The signal came during the band’s first headline appearance at Electric Picnic. Fontaines D.C. closed the Main Stage in Stradbally, and the Slane tease immediately fuelled anticipation that they could take on one of Ireland’s best-known live music venues next summer.

There has been no formal announcement yet. Further details were expected later on Monday, leaving the apparent booking at the stage of a carefully timed hint rather than a confirmed concert date.

A show at Slane would represent another marker in the band’s rapid rise. Fontaines D.C. have moved from earlier appearances at Electric Picnic to the festival’s closing headline position. Slane Castle has hosted major acts since Thin Lizzy played its first concert there in 1981, including U2, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Queen and Madonna.
