Football Legends Shine at Yücespor Veterans Tournament

Turkish football's past and present stars gathered for the Yücespor Veterans Tournament. The event featured notable names from Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, and Beşiktaş, including Metin Tekin, Tanju Çolak, and Necdet Ergün. Trabzonspor was represented by İsmail Gökçek.

The ceremonial kickoff was performed by Rıza Çalımbay, a legendary figure in Turkish football. Çalımbay expressed his delight at the invitation from Yücespor, a club known for developing many players. "The invitation from Yücespor, which has nurtured many footballers for Turkish football, made me very happy," he stated.

Ender Doğru, Yücespor's General Coordinator, echoed the sentiment, thanking Çalımbay for his participation. "Our club was greatly pleased by Rıza Çalımbay accepting our invitation, and we thank him very much. The increasing competition in our tournament matches, which start daily at 7 PM, and the growing interest in the stands are a great source of motivation for us," Doğru said.

The tournament aims to bring together veteran players and foster a spirit of camaraderie, while also drawing attention to the contributions of clubs like Yücespor to Turkish football.
