Uruguay will wake to a cool, cloudy morning on Wednesday, September 2, with fog and mist affecting several parts of the country. According to the National Meteorological Institute, temperatures will range from 5°C to 23°C nationwide.

In the northwest, the morning will bring partly cloudy skies, fog and mist, with northeast and northerly winds of 10-30 km/h. Conditions will turn clearer to partly cloudy during the afternoon and evening, although cloudier periods and gusts of up to 40 km/h are expected. Temperatures will range from 8°C to 22°C.

The northeast will see similar conditions, with more cloud cover at times in the morning and fog or mist. Winds will come from the northeast and north at 10-30 km/h, while the afternoon and evening will bring partly cloudy skies and occasional mist. The forecast calls for 6°C to 21°C.

Clouds will be more persistent in the southwest and central-southern regions. Both areas could see overcast periods, fog and mist in the morning, followed by northwest winds of 20-40 km/h. Coastal areas could face gusts of up to 50 km/h, and conditions in the southwest are expected to deteriorate at night. Temperatures will reach highs of 23°C in the southwest and 22°C in the central south.

The east, Punta del Este, Montevideo and the metropolitan area will also begin with cloudy skies, fog and mist. Punta del Este will have the coolest high, at 17°C, with northwest gusts of up to 50 km/h later in the day. Montevideo will see temperatures between 7°C and 22°C, with northwest winds and gusts of 40-50 km/h.
