Foreign national dies, two injured in Arusha road accident

A foreign national has died and two others sustained injuries following a fiery collision between a passenger bus and a small car in Tanzania's Arusha region. The accident occurred early Saturday morning on the Arusha-Moshi road in the King’ori area of Arumeru District.

The bus, en route from Arusha to Tanga, collided with a small vehicle, identified as an Alphard, which was traveling from Kilimanjaro towards Arusha. The impact caused both vehicles to erupt in flames.

After colliding, the vehicles caught fire, leading to the death of one foreign passenger and injuries to two others who were in the small car.

According to Arusha Regional Police Commander Justine Masejo, the foreign national was a passenger in the small car. The two injured individuals were also occupants of the car. Masejo stated that the police, in collaboration with other security agencies, are investigating the exact cause of the crash.

Commander Masejo appealed to all drivers to strictly observe road safety regulations, warning that the police will take action against any violators. Fire and Rescue Brigade Commander for Arusha Region, Osward Mwanjejele, confirmed that emergency services responded promptly, successfully rescuing all bus passengers and the two injured individuals from the car before extinguishing the blaze that engulfed the vehicles.
