Foreign National Killed After Being Hit by Gas Tanker Truck in Semenyih

A foreign national was killed in a road accident in Semenyih, Malaysia, after being struck by a gas tanker truck. The victim, a 41-year-old woman, was reportedly crossing the road near a supermarket when the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

She sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. The truck driver, a 36-year-old local man, was traveling from Semenyih towards EcoHill to deliver gas supplies. According to initial police investigations, the driver was unable to avoid the pedestrian as she crossed the road from the direction of the supermarket.

Kajang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof, stated that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless or dangerous driving that results in death. If convicted, the driver faces a prison sentence of not less than five years and not more than 10 years, a fine of up to RM50,000, and a driving license suspension of at least five years.
