Forest fire in Manisa damages 100 hectares after spreading from farmland

A significant forest fire broke out in Manisa, Turkey, engulfing agricultural land before spreading rapidly into a nearby forest. The blaze ignited in the Gargar mevkisi area of Seyitali Mahallesi around 4:00 PM on Tuesday.

Emergency services, including teams from the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality's Kula Fire Department and the İzmir Regional Directorate of Forestry, were immediately dispatched to the scene. Firefighting efforts involved two aircraft, three helicopters, eleven fire engines, and one bulldozer, working tirelessly from both the air and the ground.

After several hours of intense battling, the fire was brought under control around midnight. Initial assessments indicate that the fire damaged approximately 100 hectares of land, affecting both agricultural fields and forest areas. Cooling operations are ongoing in the affected region, and drone footage has captured images of the scorched landscape.
