Former Basketball Champion Milan Gurović Rescues Man from Burning Car in Serbia

Former Serbian basketball star Milan Gurović is being hailed as a hero after rescuing a man from a car engulfed in flames on a busy New Belgrade street.

The dramatic incident unfolded around 3 p.m. at the intersection of Vojvođanska and Dušana Vukasovića streets. Gurović noticed a car swerve erratically before bursting into flames. The driver, identified as 48-year-old M.J., was unable to escape because his seatbelt had jammed.

Gurović immediately went to the car, freed the man, and pulled him to safety just seconds before the vehicle completely burned.

Without hesitation, Gurović rushed to the burning vehicle. He managed to free the trapped driver and pull him to safety just moments before the car was completely consumed by fire. Emergency services, including seven firefighters and two vehicles, quickly arrived at the scene to extinguish the blaze. The cause of the fire remains undetermined.

The rescued man was transported to a local emergency center. Doctors determined he had inhaled smoke but sustained no severe injuries, thanks to Gurović's swift and courageous actions. The incident, which could have ended in tragedy, concluded with a fortunate outcome.
