Former employee caught stealing $110,000 in goods from previous company

A former employee has been arrested for stealing approximately 150 million won (US$110,000) worth of merchandise from his previous company. The man was captured on elevator CCTV entering the Seoul-based company in the early hours of May and leaving with armfuls of high-end clothing and a watch he did not previously own. He had used a master key to access the office and committed the theft over four separate occasions, taking cameras and PCs stored in the warehouse. Police issued an overseas travel ban, and when his departure was blocked, he fled to Daegu, 320 kilometers away. Authorities tracked him down as he was attempting to board a bus to Gangwon province. His luggage contained evidence of his attempted escape and job-seeking documents, along with the stolen luxury clothing. The suspect also faces charges for a total of five other theft incidents, including unauthorized entry into his former CEO's home using his position as a chauffeur. He has been arrested on charges of nighttime building entry, trespassing, and theft.
