Onew's agency: Skincare treatment was believed to be legitimate medical care

Representatives for K-pop star Onew have addressed allegations that he received medical treatment from an unlicensed practitioner. His agency, Griffin Entertainment, stated that Onew visited a clinic through a personal introduction and believed the individual providing the skincare treatment was a licensed doctor or medical professional.

The agency emphasized that there were no circumstances that would have led Onew to question the practitioner's medical license or the legality of the services. Onew has reportedly provided his statement to the police regarding the facts of the situation. The agency requested that unconfirmed speculation and misinformation be avoided as the investigation proceeds.

Onew, a member of the popular group SHINee and a solo artist, is currently under investigation by the Gangnam Police in Seoul. He is being questioned as a suspect in a case involving alleged violations of medical law. The investigation into Onew stems from a broader inquiry into an individual identified as "Mr. Lee," who is accused of practicing medicine without a license in South Korea. Other celebrities, including Jun Hyun-moo and Key, have also reportedly been investigated in connection with the same case.
