Former Negeri Sembilan Chief Minister admits performance fell short

Aminuddin Harun, the former Chief Minister of Negeri Sembilan, has conceded that his administration's performance did not meet the desired standards. Known popularly as Tok Min, he admitted that his "report card" as a leader had deficiencies and was not entirely satisfactory.

"I told the people from the beginning that my report card still has shortcomings, perhaps not enough yet. This is normal in politics (winning and losing)," Harun stated during a press conference. He expressed satisfaction, however, with his efforts to educate the public and steer them away from racial politics, noting positive developments and no regrets about his endeavors.

Despite not being given the mandate to govern again, Harun observed that the election results showed a narrow margin of defeat, indicating that his administration's efforts had garnered significant support. "Even if we lost, the vote margin was not large. For me, we succeeded in educating the people. What's important is what we have implemented, and the people need to think about what they truly want for the future," he added.

Harun also conveyed his well wishes to the new Chief Minister, urging them to persist with initiatives that benefit the people and the state. "Do good and continue. I will not be disappointed. Take care of this state and ensure its administration improves. That is all I hope for," he concluded, emphasizing his hope for a more mature political landscape across Malaysia if the federal government's approach proves effective.
