Former Pati Regent Sudewo's Detention Moved to Semarang

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has moved the detention of former Pati Regent Sudewo to Semarang. The transfer, effective June 5, 2026, follows a court order from the Semarang Corruption Court.

Sudewo was previously held at the KPK's detention center in Jakarta. The KPK also relocated three other suspects in a case involving extortion of village official candidates. These individuals, identified as Abdul Suyono, Sumarjiono, and Karjan, were Sudewo's alleged associates and field operators. They were moved from the KPK detention center to the Semarang Class I Penitentiary.

According to KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo, the relocation is mandated by law for the convenience of future trial examinations. The KPK expressed gratitude to the Kendal Police for their assistance in ensuring a smooth and secure transfer process.

Sudewo is accused of corruption related to extortion in the appointment of village officials in Pati Regency. He was arrested on January 19, 2026. The KPK has also named Sudewo a suspect in a corruption case involving a railway construction project at the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation, allegedly occurring while he was a member of the House of Representatives' Commission V.
