Former police officer arrested in Jeju for ex-wife's murder

A former police officer has been arrested in South Korea on suspicion of fatally stabbing his ex-wife in Jeju. The suspect was taken into custody in Gyeonggi Province, a significant distance from the crime scene, hours after the alleged murder.

The incident occurred on the evening of August 24, when the 50-year-old woman was allegedly attacked with a knife in her home in Namwon-eup, Seogwipo City. The victim was the ex-wife of the arrested man, who is also a former police officer.

Following the report of the crime, the Seogwipo Police Station launched an investigation. Officers reviewed CCTV footage from the vicinity of the crime scene and worked to locate the suspect. Their efforts led to the arrest of the ex-husband in Gyeonggi Province.
