Former Polish President Duda Engages in Fintech and Defense Discussions

Since concluding his term as President in August 2025, Andrzej Duda has embarked on a new chapter, engaging in international business and policy initiatives. He has joined the international Supervisory Board of the fintech company Zen.com, founded by entrepreneur Dawid Rożek.

Duda stated that he views his role at ZEN.COM as a continuation of his efforts to promote the development of modern technologies and responsible leadership in the digital economy. "ZEN.COM is an example of European innovation with global ambitions, combining trust, transparency, and efficiency in the world of finance. I want to use my international experience to support the company's secure expansion and strengthen its dialogue with partners in key markets," he said.

Beyond his corporate role, Duda also established the Central European 3Seas Institute – Andrzej Duda Foundation. His activities extend to discussions about defense procurement, where he reportedly met with General Artur Kuptel, head of the Armament Agency, and Dawid Rożek. According to reports, the meeting, initially intended as a courtesy, evolved into a discussion about potential drone acquisitions for the Polish Army, with observers describing the interaction as akin to "salesmen."

This involvement in defense matters is notable, as the Armament Agency is currently managing contracts worth approximately 700 billion Polish złoty. The article suggests that while former and current politicians sometimes meet with military officials to gain insight into procurement processes, Duda's participation alongside a company representative in discussing specific military hardware was unusual.

Duda has also shown interest in nuclear energy, with state-owned company Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe and the government in advanced negotiations with a U.S. consortium of Westinghouse and Bechtel for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Choczewo. While these negotiations are nearing completion, they have faced delays, though the project's timeline remains on track with a six-month safety buffer.
