Four Accidents Cause Major Traffic Chaos on Slovenia's Primorska Highway

Slovenia's Primorska highway experienced significant disruptions on Thursday morning as four separate traffic accidents unfolded within a span of just over two hours. The incidents involved a total of five trucks and four passenger vehicles, leading to considerable traffic jams.

Authorities reported that two individuals sustained injuries as a result of the collisions. The primary causes identified by the police were drivers failing to adjust their speed to conditions and maintaining insufficient safety distances between vehicles.

The first accident was reported around 8:52 AM near the Postojna exit, heading towards Koper. According to initial reports, a 66-year-old truck driver collided with a 47-year-old female driver's car due to excessive speed. This impact then pushed her vehicle into another car driven by a 74-year-old individual. The truck involved in the initial collision caught fire following the impact.
