Four masked assailants rob home in Paso Yobái, abandon truck after police pursuit

Four masked and armed men stormed a home in the Colonia 3 de Noviembre district of Paso Yobái, Guairá, early Friday morning. The intruders subdued and tied up the resident, Víctor Daniel Larroza, 41, before stealing approximately G. 3.5 million in cash, three cell phones, and a valuable check for G. 80 million issued to Pecuaria Digital SA. The assailants then proceeded to a neighboring house belonging to Teresa de Jesús Pereira, 61, Larroza's mother-in-law, where they stole an additional G. 1.5 million and another cell phone. Before fleeing, they took a silver Chery Himla truck registered to Larroza and Marta Peterlik Pereira. Following a police alert and a coordinated roadblock operation involving tactical agents, the stolen truck was located abandoned about 10 kilometers from the scene of the crime. Inside the vehicle, authorities recovered the G. 80 million check and other items belonging to the victims. The investigation is ongoing.
