Four Teenagers Feared Drowned, Two Rescued While Swimming at Tanjung Lompat

Four teenagers were feared drowned after a group went swimming at Tanjung Lompat beach in Tanjung Balau, Penawar, Kota Tinggi, Johor.

Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Muhammad Adib Tarmuzi said the emergency call came in at 8:19 a.m. Six firefighters and one vehicle were sent to the scene.

Initial information from members of the public indicated that six teenagers had been swimming when they were feared drowned. Two were rescued before the firefighters arrived, while the search for the others continued.

About 15 teenagers were believed to have taken part in a camping recreational activity at the location since the previous afternoon before swimming at the beach that morning. Authorities said updates on the operation would follow.
