Four tropical systems active in Northwest Pacific, but none expected to impact Taiwan

The Northwest Pacific is currently experiencing significant tropical activity, with three typhoons and one tropical depression coexisting. However, experts assure that these systems pose no immediate threat to Taiwan's weather conditions.

Meteorologist Lin De-en, a doctor of atmospheric sciences from National Taiwan University, explained that the four tropical systems are not expected to impact Taiwan. He noted that Typhoon Bailu made landfall in China after passing north of Taiwan and is forecast to weaken into a tropical depression. Its rapid movement means it will not affect Taiwan's weather.

Typhoon Chan-hom is currently heading towards Japan. Lin indicated that due to insufficient development conditions, it is expected to remain a weak typhoon and is accelerating. Typhoon Bavi is moving northeastward, but poor development conditions make it increasingly unlikely to strengthen into a moderate typhoon, and it also poses no threat to Taiwan.

Additionally, tropical depression TD18 is facing unfavorable development conditions and may dissipate before intensifying into a typhoon, with an estimated lifespan of less than 48 hours. Lin emphasized that none of these systems are projected to influence Taiwan's weather.
