Fourth suspect detained in fatal Thessaloniki arson attack

Authorities in Thessaloniki have detained a fourth suspect in connection with a deadly arson attack that claimed the life of one woman and injured several others. The 25-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with the incident that occurred on July 1st, targeting the home of Aphrodite Nestora.

The attack tragically resulted in the death of Nestora's mother, Vagia, and left Nestora, her father, and two other residents injured. The newly detained suspect was reportedly identified by the 24-year-old homeowner, who allegedly provided the keys to the perpetrators. The homeowner claims he gave the keys to the 25-year-old, who then allegedly passed them to the two young individuals believed to be the direct perpetrators.

Despite the arrest, the 25-year-old reportedly denies any involvement in the incident. Previously, a 26-year-old woman, a 29-year-old man, and the 24-year-old homeowner were taken into custody. They face charges including potential murder, involvement with a terrorist organization, explosion, arson, and illegal possession of weapons and explosives. The exact charges are expected to be finalized as investigations continue to explore the potential involvement of more people.
