France backs DRC's national dialogue for harmony

France has voiced its support for an inclusive national dialogue in the Democratic Republic of Congo, an initiative announced by President Félix Tshisekedi to address the country's challenges. The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs confirmed this support, emphasizing that the dialogue, to be held in consultation with religious communities and regional partners, will contribute to restoring national harmony.

Paris views this move as a sign of the Congolese authorities' dedication to pursuing political solutions and consolidating lasting peace in the Great Lakes region. The stated goal of strengthening national cohesion and unity, while respecting institutions and the constitution, complements ongoing mediation efforts supported by France, including those led by the United States, Qatar, and the African Union.
