Fuerza Civil kills 5 armed men, detains 4 in Nuevo León border towns

An operation by Fuerza Civil in the municipalities of Lampazos and Anáhuac, Nuevo León, resulted in the deaths of five armed civilians and the detention of four others. The clashes also led to the seizure of weapons and equipment.

The operation is part of the broader Operativo Muralla, a joint effort by Fuerza Civil and the Secretariat of National Defense aimed at curbing the activities of criminal groups in the northern rural areas of the state. Authorities reported that two interventions occurred in Anáhuac and one in Lampazos, stemming from intelligence work that identified key locations and reinforced surveillance, particularly along the highway towards Colombia.

In addition to the casualties and arrests, the security forces confiscated seven long firearms, two vehicles, ammunition, and tactical and ballistic gear. Preliminary reports from Fuerza Civil also indicated that one civilian sustained a minor injury, apparently from shrapnel, during the events.

The injured civilian received medical attention at the scene and remains under observation while authorities investigate the circumstances of the injury. The interventions were focused on areas identified through intelligence and investigation efforts to enhance security in the region.
