Galatasaray reject Gyökeres plus €30m for Osimhen – Report

Galatasaray has reportedly turned down a significant offer from Arsenal that included striker Viktor Gyökeres and €30 million for Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen. Turkish journalist Ömer Faruk Özcan reported that Arsenal officials traveled to Istanbul to negotiate, but the Turkish club refused the proposal.

Galatasaray have rejected an offer from Arsenal involving striker Viktor Gyökeres plus €30m in a bid to sign Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen.

Galatasaray considers Osimhen one of the world's most valuable players and will not negotiate unless an offer meets their valuation, estimated between €130 million and €150 million. His impressive form since joining permanently, with 59 goals and 16 assists in 74 appearances, has been instrumental in securing back-to-back Turkish Super Lig titles and consistent Champions League contention. He has also become a fan favorite under coach Okan Buruk.

Arsenal's interest is not new, with sporting director Andrea Berta previously scouting Osimhen. The renewed approach comes as questions linger about Gyökeres' adaptation since his 2025 move from Sporting CP. Convincing Galatasaray to sell Osimhen remains a challenge, especially given his lucrative contract signed in July 2025, reportedly the largest in Turkish football history, worth approximately €21 million net per season. Napoli, who sold him for €75 million, retains a ten percent sell-on clause and a clause preventing Galatasaray from selling him back to an Italian club before 2027 without a significant penalty.

Since joining permanently, the Nigeria international has scored 59 goals and provided sixteen assists in 74 appearances across all competitions, numbers that have helped Galatasaray win back-to-back Turkish Super Lig titles and establish themselves as regular Champions League contenders.

Despite the transfer speculation, Osimhen has shown no inclination to force a move. He has had positive discussions with coach Buruk and club executives and has returned for pre-season training. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also indicated that the situation is under control, with Osimhen reportedly happy in Istanbul unless an exceptional offer from an English club emerges.

Osimhen signed a permanent four-year contract in July 2025 running until June 2029, reportedly the biggest financial package ever handed to a player in Turkish football, worth about €21m net per season through salary, loyalty bonuses and image-rights payments.
