Garage complex with workshop burns in Eiterfeld; cause unclear

A fire in a commercial garage and workshop in Eiterfeld, Germany, triggered a significant response from emergency services, though no injuries were reported. The blaze caused an estimated 100,000 euros in damage to the property located in the Leimbach district.

Firefighters were alerted early in the morning by a farmer who noticed heavy smoke emanating from the premises. Approximately 80 emergency personnel worked to contain the fire, successfully preventing it from spreading to neighboring structures. The entire inventory within the garage was destroyed, and the roof also sustained damage.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined as investigations are underway. During the firefighting efforts, the main road through the town was closed for about two hours, causing disruptions to local traffic. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident to determine how the fire started.
