Gardel Awards 2026: Los Nocheros to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award at Gala

Buenos Aires will host the 2026 Gardel Awards on Tuesday, May 26, transforming the Teatro Coliseo into a hub for Argentine music. The ceremony promises a blend of tributes, live performances, and a significant digital presence, as CAPIF finalizes the details for an event designed to unite musical tradition with current artists.

A major announcement revealed that the folk group Los Nocheros will receive the Gardel Award for lifetime achievement. This prestigious recognition honors artists with extensive careers and substantial contributions to national music. The group, hailing from Salta, will be celebrated for their four decades of influence, solidifying their status as one of contemporary Argentine folklore's most successful and popular acts. Since their beginnings in the 1980s, Los Nocheros have evolved, incorporating elements of ballads and maintaining a strong presence, bringing their unique style to new generations.

The gala, exclusively broadcast by TNT and HBO Max, will be fronted by familiar faces. Diego Leuco will host the main ceremony starting at 9 p.m., while Eleonora Pérez Caresi will lead the red carpet coverage and pre-event show, beginning at 8:15 p.m.

Beyond awards and tributes, the 2026 Gardel Awards aim for a dynamic television experience with numerous live performances. CAPIF confirmed that the Teatro Coliseo stage will host artists from diverse genres and generations, reflecting the current landscape of Argentine music.
