Garrido questions penalty against Universidad Católica and compares it with Colo Colo incident

Nicolás Garrido said O’Higgins were left with a sense of injustice after losing 3-2 to Universidad Católica, pointing specifically to the penalty awarded to the hosts during the first half.

The defender questioned the decision made after a VAR intervention in Monday night’s match at Claro Arena. He compared it with a similar incident from O’Higgins’ previous game against Colo Colo, when the Rancagua side appealed for a penalty but did not receive one.

"We were left with a sense of injustice, because against Colo Colo they did not give us the same penalty, so I do not know what criteria they use. I do not want to go any further, but we are left with that feeling of injustice," Garrido said.

O’Higgins forward Ignacio Schor agreed with his teammate. He also recalled the incident involving Bastián Yáñez against Colo Colo, when the club claimed there had been an infringement inside the area that went unpunished.
