Gas station purchase in Puli, Taiwan, yields NT$2 million lottery prize

A lucky customer who purchased gasoline at the FUMAO Puli gas station in Nantou County's Puli Township has won the NT$2 million special prize in Taiwan's May-June uniform invoice lottery. The winning ticket was issued for a gasoline purchase of NT$1,240.

The Ministry of Finance announced the winning numbers on July 25, revealing that the special prize number, "10138845," yielded 22 winning tickets across the country. One of these fortunate tickets was sold at the FUMAO Puli station located on Shuren Road.

Residents of the greater Puli area are encouraged to check their invoices from that period, as the winner could be a local or a visitor. The exact identity of the winner remains unknown, as the purchase could have been made by a Puli resident, a tourist, or someone from nearby Ren'ai Township visiting for shopping or other activities.

This is not the first time a gas station in Nantou County has produced a lottery winner. In recent years, several NT$10 million special prizes and NT$2 million special prizes have been awarded to customers at gas stations in the county. Notable past wins include a NT$2 million prize from a CPC gas station at the National Freeway No. 3 Nantou Service Area, another NT$2 million prize from a CPC station in Caotun, and a NT$10 million prize from the "Shan Da Wang" gas station in Puli in 2022 for a mere NT$135 gasoline purchase.
