Gaudí, the ‘Architect of God,’ Arrives in Seoul With the Secrets of the Sagrada Família

The world of Antoni Gaudí has arrived in Seoul through an exhibition offering a close look at the architect’s life, work and the secrets of the Sagrada Família.

“Gaudí: Reborn in Seoul” opened at Sinsa House in Seoul’s Gangnam District. The exhibition accompanies commemorations of the 100th anniversary of Gaudí’s death and the completion in February of the Sagrada Família’s central Tower of Jesus Christ.

Gaudí designed the Barcelona basilica, whose construction began in 1882 and has continued for more than 144 years. Pope Leo XIV led a memorial and dedication Mass at the Sagrada Família on June 10 local time, marking the anniversary of the architect’s death.

The exhibition, an official global tour by the Gaudí Foundation of Spain, is organized around seven themes, including “The Beginning of the Journey,” “Barcelona, the Crucible of Creation,” “The Sagrada Família: The Eternal Basilica,” and “Gaudí’s Atelier.” Visitors can see handwritten manuscripts, working drawings and notebooks, as well as original tile models used in the architecture. Earlier stops in Tokyo and Osaka attracted about 330,000 visitors.
