GCB Bank Staff Launch 95 Community Projects Nationwide

GCB Bank is mobilizing over 4,000 employees to undertake 95 community development projects nationwide under its Staff Community Impact Programme (SCIP). This extensive, employee-driven initiative aims to significantly improve access to essential services, enhance learning environments, strengthen healthcare delivery, and tackle other pressing community needs across Ghana.

The program involves 95 distinct staff groups, each comprising approximately 50 employees. These teams are dedicating their time, ideas, resources, and expertise to projects designed for practical and lasting community impact. The scope of these projects is broad, encompassing education, healthcare, water and sanitation, environmental sustainability, youth development, social welfare, community safety, and infrastructure improvements.

Under SCIP, each staff group identifies a specific local need and develops a tailored intervention. This approach is rooted in the belief that employees, who live and work within these communities, are best positioned to understand and address their unique challenges. Educational projects include renovating classrooms, providing furniture and ICT facilities, and supporting special schools. Healthcare initiatives involve donating medical equipment, refurbishing wards, and supporting maternity care.

Water and sanitation projects will focus on increasing access to safe water and improved hygiene facilities. Other interventions target environmental protection, youth mentorship, support for vulnerable groups, and community beautification. Notably, the program includes targeted support for institutions like the Mampong-Akuapem School for the Deaf, Cape Coast School for the Deaf, and the Village of Hope.
