Gen. Moses Ali Finally Laid to Rest in Adjumani

Retired General Moses Ali, former Member of Parliament for Adjumani West Constituency, was laid to rest in Abiricaku Village, Adjumani District. His burial took place four days after his death, drawing thousands of mourners from across the country, including government officials and regional leaders.

Mourners lauded General Ali for his extensive and dedicated service to the West Nile region and Uganda at large. His contributions spanned various sectors, including security, development, and agriculture. Uganda's Vice President, Jessica Alupo, described him as a mentor and a leader who significantly supported many individuals in leadership roles while consistently setting a positive example throughout his public service.

Further tributes highlighted his humility despite holding numerous positions and his role in improving service delivery nationwide. The Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, conveyed a condolence message characterizing General Ali as an exemplary and professional leader whose commitment and resilience earned him widespread admiration. The Uganda People's Defence Forces accorded him a gun salute as a final mark of respect.

General Ali was also celebrated as a peacebuilder, particularly for his role in the merger of the Uganda National Rescue Front (UNRF) with the government. His funeral was marked by a janaza prayer and a special sitting of the Adjumani District Council, where leaders paid tribute to his legacy.
