Genesis unveils flagship GV90 SUV, eyes Polish market entry

Genesis, the luxury division of Hyundai, has unveiled its most ambitious model yet: the GV90 SUV. Positioned to challenge ultra-premium marques such as Bentley and Rolls-Royce, the GV90 represents a significant step for the brand, which has historically competed with European luxury players like BMW and Mercedes-Benz, as well as Lexus.

The GV90 boasts impressive dimensions, measuring over 5.28 meters in length, 2.03 meters in width, and standing between 1.81-1.82 meters tall, with a substantial 3.25-meter wheelbase. It is built on the dedicated eMP electric platform. Standard configurations include three rows of seating, while the more extravagant GV90 Neolun variant offers a four-seat "Executive Suite" layout. This premium configuration transforms the rear cabin into a lounge-like space, complete with features like heated wooden flooring, a refrigerator, privacy blinds, and a partition separating the front and rear sections.

Under the hood, the GV90 is powered by a dual-motor electric setup delivering approximately 666 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. This system draws energy from the largest battery yet used in a Hyundai Motor Group electric vehicle, a 123.5 kWh unit. The SUV is equipped with advanced chassis technology, including electronically controlled limited-slip differentials on both axles, a multi-chamber air suspension, adaptive dampers, and a rear-wheel steering system designed to reduce the turning radius of the large vehicle.

Genesis estimates the range for the seven-seater version to be around 500 kilometers, though this figure is based on preliminary data and may be adjusted for the European WLTP cycle. Charging capabilities are also notable, with the battery able to charge significantly in approximately 22 minutes.

Crucially for European consumers, Genesis has confirmed its upcoming entry into the Polish market. This strategic expansion signifies the brand's growing commitment to establishing a stronger presence in key international automotive sectors.
