George Simion addresses church in US: "You have already achieved the union: Romania with Moldova"

George Simion, president of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), addressed members of the Romanian diaspora at the St. Andrew Romanian Orthodox Church in Chicago during his visit to the United States. Speaking at a Romanian festival organized by the church, Simion emphasized the importance of preserving faith, national identity, and ties to Romania.

He pointed out the presence of individuals from cities like Balti, Mereni, Timisoara, Bistrita, Sibiu, Dobrogea, and Baia Mare, adding, "It's an entire Romania, a Greater Romania here."

The St. Andrew Romanian Orthodox Parish in Chicago operates under the Metropolis of Chisinau and All Moldova, which is canonically linked to the Patriarchate of Moscow. This connection has drawn attention, particularly given Metropolitan Vladimir's past communications with Patriarch Kirill of Russia and his views on the geopolitical situation concerning Moldova and the role of the Romanian Patriarchate-supported Metropolitanate of Bessarabia.
