German Development Bank mission begins work in Kyrgyzstan

A delegation from the German Development Bank (KfW) is currently in Kyrgyzstan, signaling a continued commitment to bolstering the nation's healthcare infrastructure. The mission, which commenced its work and is scheduled to conclude on April 23, held a significant meeting with First Deputy Minister of Health, Tlek Mamadaliev. This engagement underscores the strong and collaborative relationship between Kyrgyzstan and Germany in advancing public health initiatives.

The discussions focused on the current progress of joint projects aimed at enhancing the healthcare system. A particular emphasis was placed on expediting the construction of much-needed perinatal centers in Osh and Talas. These facilities are crucial for improving maternal and infant care, areas where Germany's support has already made a notable impact in reducing mortality rates.

Furthermore, the meeting explored priority areas for future cooperation, including the critical fields of pediatrics and neonatology. Both sides acknowledged Germany's substantial contributions to Kyrgyzstan's health sector, recognizing the positive outcomes in reducing maternal and infant mortality and strengthening the capacity of healthcare professionals. The Ministry of Health expressed its gratitude for KfW's ongoing support and reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan's keen interest in deepening this vital bilateral partnership.
