German police raid properties linked to banned far-right group

German police have conducted searches across five federal states as authorities investigate the potential continuation of a banned far-right group. The focus is on the "Artgemeinschaft – Germanische Glaubens-Gemeinschaft wesensgemäßer Lebensgestaltung," which was outlawed nationwide in 2023.

The searches are based on suspicions that sympathizers are keeping the organization active. A spokesperson for the public prosecutor's office in Halle confirmed that the operation targets a total of 15 individuals accused of supporting the group. These individuals are suspected of aiding the continuation of the banned association.

Law enforcement actions took place primarily in Saxony-Anhalt, with additional operations in Berlin, Brandenburg, Lower Saxony, and North Rhine-Westphalia. The Interior Ministry had previously labeled the "Artgemeinschaft" as a "sect-like, deeply racist and anti-Semitic association." The group's legal challenge against the ban was ultimately rejected by the Federal Administrative Court in April.

This investigation underscores the ongoing efforts by German authorities to dismantle extremist organizations and prevent the resurgence of banned groups. The raids signal a continued commitment to combating far-right extremism within the country.
