German President 'Happy' to Visit Indonesia for Fourth Time

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier lauded Indonesia's pivotal role in regional stability during his state visit, expressing delight at his fourth trip to the archipelago. He met with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta, where both leaders discussed the deepening partnership between their nations.

I am happy to be able to visit Indonesia again. This is the fourth time I have visited here. This number of visits shows how important the relationship with Indonesia is for us in Germany.

Steinmeier underscored the significance of the bilateral relationship, which he stated has been robust since the 2012 Jakarta Declaration. He sees substantial potential for further collaboration across various strategic fields, noting the "diversity of topics" and "developments" in recent years.

The German President also highlighted ASEAN's importance in shaping regional security. He specifically commended Indonesia's position as a "key stability factor" within the bloc, observing that the nation not only embraces this role but actively enhances it. This visit marks a continued strengthening of ties, with both countries committed to expanding their cooperation.
