German Wehrlein wins Shanghai's first Formula E race

German driver Pascal Wehrlein secured a commanding victory in the first Formula E race of the Shanghai Grand Prix, marking a significant win for Porsche.

Wehrlein, starting from pole position, controlled the race from the outset, ultimately crossing the finish line with a comfortable lead. He finished 1.633 seconds ahead of Portugal's Antonio Félix da Costa, who secured second place driving for Jaguar. British driver Jake Dennis completed the podium, finishing third for Andretti.

Other notable performances included Brazil's Felipe Drugovich, who finished fourth for Andretti, and Spain's Pepe Martí, who struggled in his Cupra Kiro, finishing 15th and over 20 minutes behind the winner.

Despite Wehrlein's victory, New Zealand's Mitch Evans continues to lead the World Championship standings with 132 points. Wehrlein is now in second place with 129 points, just three points adrift. Félix da Costa and Dennis hold third and fourth positions respectively, setting the stage for an exciting remainder of the season.
