Germany: Police search for woman who abducted baby from hospital

Police in Lüdenscheid, Germany, are actively searching for an unidentified woman who abducted a seven-day-old infant from a hospital. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon when the suspect, posing as a hospital employee, entered a patient's room and took the newborn boy.

Authorities reported that witnesses spotted the baby in a room adjacent to a parking garage approximately one hour after the abduction. Emergency services transported the infant back to the hospital. A spokesperson for the Hagen public prosecutor's office confirmed that the baby was found to be neither injured nor overheated.

The police have secured the parking garage to collect evidence and are investigating witness accounts and video footage to identify the suspect. The woman is described as being between her mid-20s and early 30s, approximately 1.75 to 1.80 meters tall, with a very slender build, and blonde hair possibly tied in a ponytail. She was reportedly wearing a light blue smock, large glasses, and carrying a dark shoulder bag.
