Ghana police and Ahafo Ano South West Assembly boost security collaboration

The Ghana Police Service and the Ahafo Ano South West District Assembly are intensifying their collaborative efforts to bolster security within the district.

The engagement also reaffirmed the commitment of the District Assembly and the Ghana Police Service to working together to create a safer and more secure environment for residents and businesses in the Ahafo Ano South West District.

This renewed commitment follows a working visit by the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, Commissioner of Police (COP) Osei Akoto Arthur, to the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West, Abubakar Sedik. The meeting, held last Tuesday, served as a platform for both institutions to discuss pressing security concerns and explore avenues for deepening their partnership.

Both COP Arthur and Mr. Sedik reaffirmed their dedication to fostering a safer and more secure environment for residents and businesses. COP Arthur specifically commended Mr. Sedik for his consistent support of police activities in the district, acknowledging the assembly's vital role in creating an enabling environment for law enforcement operations. He assured the DCE of the Police Service's ongoing commitment to working closely with the assembly and other stakeholders to maintain law and order.

A significant topic raised during the discussions was the critical need for adequate staff accommodation for police personnel stationed in the district.

The district police command outlined its intention to construct new police quarters, a project expected to provide decent housing for officers and enhance their operational effectiveness. COP Arthur noted that improved accommodation would enable the deployment of additional police personnel to the district once the quarters are built.
