Ghana's Kwahu Business Village to Become International Conference Hub

The Kwahu Business Forum is undergoing a significant transformation, aiming to evolve into a premier international conference hub that will bolster business growth and foster crucial policy dialogue within Ghana. Benjamin Essuman, a team member and special aide to the Chief of Staff, revealed that substantial efforts are being made to elevate the Kwahu Business Village into a globally recognized center, designed to attract a diverse array of businesses and investors from around the world.

This initiative, conceptualized in 2024 by John Dramani Mahama and his Chief of Staff during the Easter period in Kwahu—a traditional gathering spot for entrepreneurs—has rapidly progressed. What began as a platform for direct engagement between business leaders and policymakers to voice concerns has, through its successful maiden and subsequent editions, become an annual fixture. The 2025 edition notably focused on enhancing access to finance, bringing together banks and financial institutions, including the World Bank and the African Development Bank, to connect with entrepreneurs and discuss funding opportunities.

The consistent presence of the President at the forum further instills confidence among businesses and deepens engagement with national leadership.

The 2026 edition marked a significant expansion, held at the newly developed Kwahu Business Village. This growth is further supported by a generous donation of approximately 150 acres of land by traditional authorities in Kwahu, earmarked for the development of a permanent business conference center. The forum is increasingly attracting both local and international companies, thereby creating invaluable opportunities for networking and collaboration. It also synergistically promotes tourism activities, such as paragliding, in conjunction with the Ghana Tourism Authority, positioning the Kwahu Business Forum as Ghana's equivalent of the World Economic Forum.
