GIIAS Education Day Introduces Hundreds of Students to Automotive Industry

GIIAS Education Day brought over 550 students from 11 schools and universities to ICE BSD City in Tangerang, Indonesia, on Wednesday. The event, part of the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026, offered students a firsthand look at the automotive industry's progress.

Attendees explored various aspects of the sector, including vehicle technology, electric vehicles, manufacturing processes, and potential career paths. They engaged directly with representatives from leading automotive companies such as Toyota, Daihatsu, Honda, and Hyundai, among others. Participating institutions ranged from vocational high schools to universities.

Anton Kumonty, Chairman of GAIKINDO, emphasized the importance of such events for introducing future workforces to the industry's developments. "Through Education Day, we want to introduce various opportunities and challenges in the automotive industry to the younger generation," Kumonty stated. "GIIAS serves as a direct learning platform connecting students with technology and industry players."

The GIIAS 2026 exhibition runs from July 30 to August 9. Following the Tangerang event, GIIAS will continue its series in Surabaya, Bandung, Semarang, and Makassar, with a Bali edition scheduled for January 2027. Organizers aim to expand GIIAS's reach across Indonesia.
