Giuliano Simeone, son of Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone, scored a dramatic late equalizer to salvage a 2-2 draw against Villarreal. The goal came in the dying moments after Atletico had been reduced to 10 men when Robin Le Normand was sent off in the 76th minute for a foul that led to a penalty, putting Villarreal ahead.

The match was overshadowed by fan frustration directed at striker Julian Alvarez. Supporters booed him during warm-ups and again when he was announced as a substitute. Alvarez headed straight to the changing room after the final whistle, drawing further boos.
