GKNB: After clarifications, some 'Yakyn-Inkar' supporters abandon the movement

The State Committee for National Security (GKNB) in Kyrgyzstan has reported a positive development in Naryn and its surrounding region, where a segment of individuals associated with the religious extremist organization 'Yakyn-Inkar' have decided to withdraw their support. This outcome followed crucial preventive discussions held with these individuals.

During these sessions, representatives of the official Muslim clergy played a vital role. They engaged with the attendees, providing essential information regarding the unacceptability of religious schism and underscoring the paramount importance of social harmony. The clergy also stressed the significance of adhering to traditional Islam, specifically within the framework of the Hanafi madhhab.

This initiative by the GKNB, in collaboration with religious leaders, aims to foster a more unified and stable religious environment. By clarifying the tenets of traditional Islam and discouraging divisive practices, the authorities are working to ensure that religious adherence aligns with national values and promotes public accord.
