Gladys "La Bomba Tucumana" explains her "Gran Hermano" experience and feeling mistreated

Gladys "La Bomba Tucumana," a renowned figure in Argentine popular music for decades, revealed her motivations for joining the reality show "Gran Hermano" (Big Brother). She explained that the experience allowed her to explore herself and connect with people on a different level. At her current age, she accepted the invitation to understand her own reactions in an unfamiliar environment with diverse personalities, aiming for the public to get to know her better as Gladys.

The experience was nice because it allowed me to know myself more and know people from another place. I accepted the invitation of Gran Hermano at this age because I wanted to know how I am in an environment that I don't know and with people of different personalities. My intention was for people to know me more, Gladys.

Reflecting on her time in the house, Gladys expressed that the show often presented a curated version of participants. She felt that negative incidents, such as an accusation of stealing makeup, were highlighted without showing the full context or resolution, leaving her in a poor light. Conversely, moments where she spoke about her family, cooked, cleaned, acted as a good companion, or supported fellow contestant Pincoya were largely omitted. "The truth is that they didn't air a lot of moments where I was myself, talking about my family, my mother, cooking, washing the bathroom, being a good companion or accompanying Pincoya when she started crying because she had been given clothes she didn't like," she stated.

To be honest, I think that in the program, what the show needs to show of each one happens. Perhaps things happened where I was accused of stealing makeup, but they didn't show if I actually stole it or not, and that's why I was left in a bad light. The truth is that they didn't air a lot of moments where I was myself, talking about my family, my mother, cooking, washing the bathroom, being a good companion or accompanying Pincoya when she started crying because she had been given clothes she didn't like.

Gladys described feeling "disoriented" and "faded" by the hostile atmosphere and mistreatment she experienced. Accustomed to over forty years of positive interactions with fans who approach her for photos, she found the environment within the house to be "super hostile" where she felt "mistreated." These situations, which she described as triggers, made her feel unwell and reluctant to continue participating.

Unfortunately, I wasn't seen because we all know that the program shows what it's interested in showing. Perhaps they were looking for me to come across as the bad one, but the truth is that I had few moments where I had to defend myself, which in fact were the triggers for me to leave. I don't like being insulted or told disgusting words.

She also touched upon romantic interactions within the show, admitting she was "joking" and had planned to create a "novel" with another participant, Zunino, whom she described as "divine" and "very educated." She acknowledged that she hadn't watched the show before entering and would have acted differently had she known the dynamics. Despite the negative experiences, she mentioned that she had formed positive connections with some housemates, expressing affection for those she felt closest to.

I became blurred, I faded because due to my profession, I am used to people loving me, treating me well. It's not that I expected that in there because I know it was a game and we were all equal, but there were situations that were a trigger. More than forty-three years of receiving affection from people who wait for me to take a photo, and suddenly, I'm in a super hostile environment where I'm mistreated. All of that unsettled me, made me feel bad, and made me not want to be in that place.
