Global stages light up with diverse arts festivals this week

Art and music lovers can look forward to a week filled with diverse cultural events across the globe. From the prestigious Latitude Festival in Suffolk, England, running from July 23-26, attendees can catch performances by artists like David Byrne, Tom Odell, Billy Ocean, Teddy Swims, and Lewis Capaldi.

In Jordan, the Jerash Culture and Arts Festival, a long-standing regional event, opens on July 23 and runs until August 2. The festival, themed "A Legacy That Endures... Generations Meet," will feature Lebanese singer Majida El Roumi and French-Lebanese trumpeter İbrahim Maalouf at its opening. The lineup also includes Egyptian singer Ahmed Saad, El Shami, and 47SOUL on July 24, followed by the Caracalla Dance Theatre and Tunisian artist Dorsaf Hamdani on the third day. George Wassouf and El Far3i are set to perform on July 26.

Lebanon's Baalbeck International Festival celebrates its 70th anniversary with a special opening night on July 24. Composer Gabriel Yared will perform his film scores, accompanied by projections on the ancient temple walls. Meanwhile, Tunisia hosts the El Jem International Symphonic Music Festival, starting today. The festival will feature Orchestre l'Orpheon on July 24 and 25, with the latter performance conducted by Clement Rousseau, including Ravel's "Bolero" and Rimsky-Korsakov's "Scheherazade." The festival concludes on July 26.

England's "Truck Festival 2026" will take place at Hill Farm in Oxfordshire from July 24-26, highlighting independent rock and alternative music with acts like The Cribs, Primal Scream, and The Maccabees scheduled for July 24.
