Google inaugurates Pakistan office, marking 'big milestone'

Google has officially inaugurated its local office in Pakistan, a move described as a "big milestone" by the company's Global Affairs Vice President Wilson L. White. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who met with a Google delegation led by White at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad. U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Pakistan Natalie Baker was also present. Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the "great scope" for a fruitful partnership with Google, emphasizing Pakistan's ongoing digital transformation and its large youth population as key assets. He expressed optimism about leveraging these factors to improve the country's fortunes. White stated that Google has been investing in and committed to Pakistan for over a decade, and the opening of a local office signifies a new phase in this commitment. The establishment of a physical presence in Pakistan is expected to foster closer collaboration and accelerate digital initiatives within the country.
