Gov Bala Mohammed swears in 20 Bauchi LG chairmen

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has officially inaugurated the 20 newly elected local government chairmen, marking the formal commencement of their terms following the recent local government elections. The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Government House in Bauchi, where the State Chief Judge, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar, administered the oaths of office and allegiance.

The election results, previously announced by the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC), showed a decisive victory for the ruling party, which secured all 20 chairmanship positions and 319 of the 323 councillorship seats contested statewide. Notable among the newly sworn-in chairmen are Umar Mohammed of Bauchi Local Government Area and Bappah Aliyu of Alkaleri Local Government Area. The remaining four councillorship seats were won by candidates from opposition parties.
