Government Dispatches Six Aircraft Carrying Aid to NTT and Kalimantan

The Indonesian government has deployed six Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) aircraft to deliver vital aid to regions affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara and to support efforts against forest and land fires in Kalimantan. The operation commenced early Monday morning, August 24, 2026.

Today, Monday morning, August 24, 2026, at 04:30 AM Western Indonesian Time, six TNI AU aircraft were dispatched again to bring aid to disaster-affected areas.

According to Seskab Teddy Indra Wijaya, three aircraft were dispatched to Labuan Bajo and Maumere in East Nusa Tenggara. These planes carried approximately 31 tons of ready-to-eat food supplies, including biscuits, wafers, protein bars, bread, and other essential food items, along with toys for children.

The remaining three aircraft were sent to Kalimantan, with destinations in Pontianak, Palangkaraya, and Banjarmasin. These flights transported 500 water pump engines, part of a larger shipment of 2,000 units intended to aid in combating fires, particularly in peatland areas. Each pump is equipped with a 1-kilometer hose.

President Prabowo Subianto has stressed the importance of a rapid and integrated response to these disasters. He also directed that all necessary measures be taken to ensure the logistical aid effectively reaches the affected communities. "The government assures that the affected communities are not alone.
