Gowa hosts South Sulawesi Madrasah Scout Camp with 2,389 participants

Gowa has officially become the host of the 2026 South Sulawesi Provincial Madrasah Scout Camp, bringing 2,389 participants to Bumi Cadika Gowa Campground.

We appreciate the South Sulawesi Ministry of Religious Affairs for choosing Gowa as the host of the camp, and this is part of a joint effort to strengthen youth development through character education and scouting.

Gowa Deputy Regent Darmawangsyah Muin thanked the South Sulawesi regional office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs for selecting the district. He said the camp forms part of a joint effort to develop young people through character education and scouting.

The event includes 1,089 Penggalang participants and 1,300 Penegak participants. Gowa itself is taking part with 27 groups, one of the largest delegations among the districts and cities in South Sulawesi.

We hope this Madrasah Camp can produce resilient young people who uphold national values. Hopefully activities like this will continue, and Gowa will always be ready to be a good host.

Muin said the camp should build independence, discipline, leadership and solidarity rather than serve merely as a conventional camping activity. Regional religious affairs chief Ali Yafid said it would help develop the potential of young madrasah scouts and strengthen their ability to work together.

This is not merely a gathering, but a way to develop the potential of Penggalang and Penegak scouts and form young people with independence and the ability to cooperate.

Yafid urged participants to use the camp to build friendships, gain experience and care for the environment. He specifically encouraged them to plant trees and maintain them.
